Happy New Year everyone! Yeah, we’re a little late but this is technically our first newsletter of 2012 so we thought it appropriate. That being said, we hope 2012 is starting off great (and profitable) for all of you. Many of you have likely heard the popular phrase “With a new year comes new beginnings,” and we are excited to announce a few of our own:

Taylor Elliott has moved up (literally and figuratively) into a customer service role where she will be assisting customers with quoting and ordering various pump parts across all of our distribution lines. Taylor will be utilizing many of the skills she obtained in her previous role as our receptionist/sales expediter to transition smoothly into her new position as a Customer Service/Inside Sales Representative.

Niki Bush has Joined EW Process as a new member. She will be taking over where Taylor left off. Niki is from just down the road—Rock Hill, South Carolina. She attended school at Johnson & Wales in Charleston South Carolina where she trained to be a pastry chef. Since graduation she’s had the opportunity to work in New York City and New Orleans before moving back to South Carolina. She’s catching on quickly and we are excited to have her.

Last but not least, EW Process is excited to welcome Robert Bales to the team. Robert joins the soon-to-be famous Misael Samboy in our Service Center where he will assist with shipping and pump repairs. He is from right here in Fort Mill and so far is proving to be a perfect addition to the team.

Again, congratulations to all three.

January found a new—yet familiar—face atop the Salesman of the Month rankings. Jeff McConaghy ran away with the honor while Brian Kulik followed in a not-too-distant second. Good Job Jeff!

Finally, it has been a month since the calendar turned over from 2011 to 2012 and we get the sneaking suspicion that some of you might be struggling to follow through with some of those New Years’ resolutions (Trent’s Spanish is coming along….uhhh…nevermind). With that in mind, here are a couple tips to keep those promises to yourself that you thought important enough to make a ‘Resolution’:

Make It a Goal
Some resolutions can be too vague to be actionable. Turn your resolution into a goal. The difference between a resolution and a goal is that you know when you’ve met a goal.

Be Specific
Don’t be vague! A goal to lose weight is vague. More specifically your goal might be to eat small, healthy meals, do cardio for an hour a day and lift weights every other day for 30 minutes until you lose 10 pounds, lower your blood pressure by 30 points and are able do 50 push-ups. See the difference?

Break It Into Actionable Steps
Divide your goal into small actionable steps. For example, if you want to write a novel you might… 1. Think of 20 plots. 2. Choose one. 3. Outline the chapters. 4. Write each chapter. 5. Edit. 6. Have someone else edit. 7. Search for publishers etc. etc. etc.

Keep Visual Reminders
Wear a ring, hang a note on your bathroom mirror or keep a note or photo in your wallet reminding you of your goal.

Write it down!

Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas! Hey everybody, and Happy Holidays. So far December has been a great month for us. In fact, we’ve already surpassed our total sales in December of 2010 with almost a third of the month still to go. Suffice it to say, that this month may turn out to be one of the best in our history, which we’ve had the pleasure of saying quite a bit this year. Of course, this month and this year would not be possible without you (yes, you) so on behalf of everyone here at E.W. Process: Thank You.

Meanwhile, the month of November was an exciting one for our instrumentation department as we were pleased to have Craig Hannah and Dave Dailey from Metso Automation visit. Everyone involved received advanced training on Consistency and Solids measurement, configuration and sampling technologies. The Pulp and Paper Industry along with the Residual Solids side of the Water and Wastewater Industry are very important to EW Process, so thanks Craig and Dave for your continued support and assistance. We are truly appreciative.

As you all know, the happiest day of the year is officially less than a week away. Christmas brings us great food, time to spend with friends and family, and hopefully a couple of days off work. It also means that at some point, you’ll likely have to brave the crowds to get out and do some gift-shopping. Now, ideally everyone had their Christmas shopping done several weeks ago and can now relax knowing that all the perfect presents are already wrapped and under the tree. However, something tells us that may not be the case for everyone, we’re here to help you with that a couple last minute gift guides.

This is a great, thorough gift guide from the New York Times:
http://www.nytimes.com/gift-guide/holiday-2011/categories.html

Ladies, here’s a gift guide for the guy in your life. Of course you ladies have already gotten your shopping done right? Well, it’s never too early to get started on next year:
http://artofmanliness.com/2011/11/27/christmas-gifts-for-men-2011/

And fellas, here’s are a couple gift guides for your better half. I know you told yourself last year that you wouldn’t wait until the last minute ever again yet here you are. Let’s remember this next year eh?
http://gifts.marthastewart.com/for-her.aspx

http://www.oprah.com/gift-list/O-Magazine-2011-Holiday-Gift-Guide-Oprah-Holiday-Gift-Guide

We hope those help, and if nothing else, give you a couple ideas for stocking stuffers (yeah, don’t forget those).

Again, from everyone at E.W. Process, thank you for a spectacular year. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. We can’t wait to serve you in 2012.

We want to start out by apologizing for our missing newsletter last month. Everyone in the office spent hours and hours in the drafting room writing up perhaps our best work ever. Keith and Trent even contributed a couple paragraphs before we realized that no one outside the back roads of Lincoln County North Carolina would be able to understand what they were saying. We had the whole thing almost perfected and ready to go to print when John Hodge ran through the office like a summer storm, muttering something about needing to get to his mountain house and lost keys. After that, the newsletter was nowhere to be found and we can only assume that it disappeared into the black hole of his car along with so many banana peels and office pens—never to be seen again.

In all seriousness though, we hope you all had a great October and are having an excellent November. It’s truly amazing how fast this year is going by. Now that the kids are running out of their Halloween candy, and coming down off of their sugar buzz, we can focus on preparing for Thanksgiving. This of course includes decorating the house in fall colors and perfecting the recipes that weren’t quite good enough for your Mother-in-law last year.

October turned out to be a great month for us, thanks in large part to the efforts of Jeff McConaghy and Michael Taylor. Both of these guys turned in stellar performances, so thanks Michael and Jeff. Michael, by the way, doesn’t even bother checking on Salesman of the Month anymore, he just waits patiently by the phone for anyone and everyone to call and congratulate him on his latest victory.

We mentioned back in August that we had broken ground on a service center expansion. In just a few short months, the expansion is nearly complete and looking great. Again, we are excited for the completion of our new and improved Service Center as we believe it will only help us to improve our already legendary customer service.

Finally, considering that Thanksgiving is just around the corner, we want to remind all of our customers—and principles!—how thankful we are to have the opportunity to do business with you day in and day out. Everyone enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday, time with family and post-Thanksgiving-dinner-coma and we look forward to hearing from you soon. Now go eat some turkey!
